오늘 조선일보에 난 기사가 참 감동적입니다
미국의 한 입양 아빠가 한국에서 입양한 딸이 고도청각장애란 판명이 나면서 고민끝에 회사에 사직서를 제출했습니다. 아빠 바나비씨는 미국내 8개 공장을 책임지는 기술 담당 부사장이었는데 그는 사직서에 이렇게 썼답니다.
"19년 전 나는 눈을 휘둥그렇게 뜬 풋내기 엔지니어였습니다. 지금 나는 눈을 휘둥그렇게 뜬 풋내기 아빠입니다. 이 회사에서 나는 그리 잘 듣는 사람이 아니었습니다. 하지만 청각 장애 딸 덕에, 생각치도 못했던 방식으로 듣는 법을 배울 것입니다."
